About the Role
We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer that would be in charge of reliability, performance, and innovation for a portion of our customers Cloud Infrastructure. He/she would command broad knowledge on Cloud Administration topics, but relish the opportunity to dig in deep on new technologies. Also be able to manage and communicate a technology’s complete life cycle, from evaluating and monitoring, all the way to backing it up and forecasting growth. Need to be comfortable with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripting, and always consider when he/she should automate a task. This position would like being a consultant and working with teams to help solve problems.

Responsibilities:
• Conducts performance improvement services that may include, performance gap analysis, root cause analysis, improvement and design considerations, and recommendations.
• Defines technical standards and software solutions. Supports definition and refinement of high-level and non-functional requirements.
• Ownership of upgrades and regular maintenance schedules.
• Design and build-out and maintain backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Serve as an escalation point for on-call rotation for your specialty.
• Create forecasting models for capacity planning, providing proactive growth for your vertical.
• Provides technical leadership; champions reference architecture; peer reviewer; mentors dev team; identifies smoke tests; ensures DevSecOps best practices.
• Provides technical direction related to the implementation of software architectures by other staff and communities of excellence.
• Design resilient, secure, high availability cloud infrastructure in support of long-term engineering goals.
• Play an instrumental role in migrating applications to EKS.
• Improve software delivery and operational performance measurement capabilities.
• Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain deployment automation using tools such as Ansible.
• Mentor software engineers on DevSecOps principles.
• Make service your mission as you optimize our infrastructure to enable deployment with a reduction in change failure rates.
• Be committed to improving the engineering experience.
• Work on autoscaling AWS architecture.
• Build platforms and automated delivery pipelines using a combination of AWS services, Serverless frameworks, Kubernetes and containerization approaches, and microservice design patterns.
• Create and design infrastructure-as-code solutions to promote services through development, test, and production environments.
• Collaborate with customers and team members as part of an Agile lifecycle to gather, understand, and refine platform and application requirements.
• Follow DevSecOps best practices for full security integration, infrastructure as code, operational visibility, and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
• Harden and ensure the security and accreditation of a multitenant development platform.
Clearance:
• Must have or be eligible for TS security clearance preferred; DHS EOD/Public Trust acceptable. Must be able to maintain the required clearance to include US citizenship

Requirements
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and extensive knowledge of Linux Administration and Engineering.
You can read and interpret IETF standards and RFCs.
You’re as comfortable with /bin/perf as you are with /bin/ls.
An advanced background with common automation tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, and Ansible.
An advanced background with a higher-level scripting language, such as Perl or Python.
A willingness to take responsibility, accountability, and ownership.
Ability to mentor and teach people what you know.
Highly detail-oriented.
Experience onboarding and managing technologies like these: [AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba].
6+ years of professional hands-on experience building and scaling AWS architecture.
Ability to design and scale AWS services with interoperability and resilience in mind.
Experience supporting and performance tuning of MySQL.
Experience with Docker / Kubernetes.
Scripting language experience such as Bash, Csh, etc.
Programming experience in Ruby is preferred.
